Pin Library Organizer
A single-user Pinterest organization tool by Yvan Castonguay.
What it does
Pin Library Organizer connects to one Pinterest account — the owner's — through the official Pinterest API (v5, OAuth 2.0) and helps keep a large personal library organized:
- Inventory — list all boards and pins on the account.
- Re-home misfiled pins — move pins sitting on the wrong themed board to the correct one. Moves are genuine reassignments, never copies.
- Quarantine duplicates — detect exact and near-duplicate pins across boards (via perceptual image hashing) and move them to a private holding board for review. Nothing is ever deleted.
- Dry-run planning — every proposed change is previewed and requires explicit confirmation before anything is applied.
This is a personal productivity tool for the account owner. It is not offered to the public, has no other users, and performs no automated posting, following, commenting, or messaging of any kind.
How it works
- Authentication uses Pinterest's standard OAuth 2.0 authorization-code flow with PKCE. The owner signs in with their own Pinterest account and grants the app permission to read and manage their own boards and pins.
- All API usage stays within Pinterest's published rate limits.
- Image data is processed transiently: images are downloaded, hashed, and discarded immediately. Only compact perceptual hashes are retained, solely to identify duplicates.
Data & privacy
The tool processes only the owner's own Pinterest data, stores the minimum needed to do its job, and shares nothing with third parties. Full details: Privacy Policy.
